A legacy written in film
Luiz Carlos Barreto (LC Barreto) is a cornerstone of Brazilian cinema. Over the past six decades, he has worked with legends like Glauber Rocha, Nelson Pereira dos Santos, and Bruno Barreto, shaping the country’s cinematic landscape. His films helped define the Cinema Novo movement and later phases of Brazilian film — bold, socially charged, and unapologetically Brazilian.
